Mumbai: Big news is coming out about veteran actor Nippon Goswami. The actor passed away in the hospital on Thursday. Goswami, 80, was unwell for the past few days. The family took him to the hospital for treatment. He was suffering from heart related problems. His health had suddenly deteriorated on Monday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Goswami. He wrote on Twitter:- “Saddened by the passing away of Shri Nippon Goswami, who made a pioneering contribution to the Assamese film industry. Condolences to his family and fans.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has also condoled the death of the veteran actor. Let us tell you, Goswami was born in Tezpur city of Assam. He was an alumnus of the prestigious Film and Television Institute of India. He made his debut in Assamese cinema as a child artist in the year 1957. After this, he appeared in many films playing an important role.

Apart from the silver screen, Goswami also worked in mobile theatre, advertisements and TV shows. His father Chandradhar Goswami was also a famous actor and his mother Nirupama Goswami was a singer. The Assam government has announced that his last rites will be performed with full state honours.
