Nashik: Changes are being made in the crime branch to check the increasing crime incidents in the Nashik City Commissionerate border area including history sheeter and action on suspects. Four new police teams are being formed to stop drugs, dacoity, use of illegal weapons, extortion and hooliganism. This will be implemented from the first day of the new year. Nashik Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde has given orders to prepare ‘horoscope’ of criminals of the border area. Taking the details of the effective work of this team will reduce the ‘ground’ for the criminals to run away.
Nashik Police Commissioner Ankush Shinde, after taking charge, had made visible the importance of effective policing in the city. Along with taking details of the availability of human resources and criminal activities of the city, he talked about redeployment of ‘squad’ including crime branch.

According to this, Commissioner Shinde has decided to implement a special team under the Crime Branch at the Commissionerate level. Ambad and Satpur are two important industrial colonies in the city. Citizens from other states come here due to the religious and tourism importance of Nashik. That’s why criminal activities keep happening. In this, it is necessary to stop the illegal use of arms, including the sale of narcotics, extortion, robbery attempts. Hence effective immediate action on suspects including criminal control is required. A team will be formed for this.

Special teams will be under crime branch
- Teams will start working from 1 January 2023.
- The performance of the teams will be reviewed from time to time.
- All the teams will work under the Commissioner of Police, Crime.
- Applications will be invited from the officers-personnel willing to work in the team.
These teams will work in the entire city limits. Complete information of the suspect including the criminal, history sheeter will be collected. We are also making a list of criminals. Through this, there will be effective policing to maintain discipline, law and order in the city.
