  • Station: 15 rupees will have to be paid for keeping the luggage

Nagpur, From next month, the clock room of the station will be operated by a private company instead of the Railways. The highest bid for this clock room was Rs 8.90 lakh. This agreement has been done for 2 years. Now passengers will have to pay Rs 15 for keeping luggage for 24 hours. The special thing is that this will be the minimum payment fee i.e. passengers will have to pay Rs 15 for keeping the luggage for one hour or for 24 hours. However, this fee was also charged earlier.

More than 150 trains every day

It is worth mentioning that earlier this facility was run by the Railways where permanent railway employees had to give regular duty. Like many other facilities, now the clock room has also been included in the contract system. Under this, an e-auction was conducted in which the maximum bid of Rs 8.90 lakh was received. It is known that Nagpur station is included in the major junctions of the country. Trains are available from here to go from north to south and east to west in the country. Due to the operation of more than 150 passenger trains, there is movement of more than 30,000 passengers every day.

Payment process is old: Krishnath Patil

Senior Divisional Commercial Manager of Central Railway Nagpur Division Krishnath Patil said that passengers will have to pay at least Rs 15 for keeping luggage for 24 hours. Although there is nothing new in this, during the operation of the clock room by the railways, the passengers had to pay the same fee. Efforts are being made that the agreement will be fully implemented from the second week of March.
