Nagpur. Police has arrested another constable in the racket of providing facilities like marijuana to the prisoners in the Central Jail. It is learned that he was running the entire racket. Now the number of accused arrested in this case has increased to 6. Soon criminal prohibition Wasnik and Vaibhav Tandekar may also be arrested.
Jail constable Parmeshwar Khonde, who was caught on Saturday, was told. Police investigation revealed that it was Khondey who had bought the SIM card and mobile phone for this purpose. It was used to arrange ganja for the prisoners. Khonde was missing since the case was registered. His role in the case also came to the fore. On the basis of the location of the mobile phone, the police caught Khonde.
The officer said that Khondey had asked his friends to recharge his mobile phone. However, the mobile which was being used could not be found by the police. Khondey says that after the arrest of 2 jail constables, he threw the phone in the drain. Later in the afternoon the police produced him in the court. The court sent him on police remand till 7 December. On Wednesday, the police arrested constables named Ajinkya Rathod and Prashant Rathod on the charges of supplying marijuana to the prisoners in the Central Jail. Apart from them, criminals named Shrikant Thorat, Gopi alias Gopal Parade and Rahul Mendhekar have also been arrested.
Gopal and Rahul are history sheeters. For about 6 months, both were in jail with criminal prohibition Wasnik and Vaibhav Tandekar. Meanwhile, they became good friends. After being released from jail on bail, all three started working for prohibition. The SIM card was procured through forged documents. In this case, the role of the Baba (prisoner warden) of the Central Jail and the young man running a fruit shop near the washing center has also come to the fore. The police is looking for him.
