Just four days before the Mainpuri Lok Sabha by-election, the Election Commission issued instructions to immediately relieve six sub-inspectors. Along with this, the Commission has sent a letter asking the SP to give an explanation. The SP following the Election Commission’s order has removed all the six policemen. This action is being considered on the complaint made by SP’s National General Secretary Ramgopal Yadav in the Election Commission.
National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party (SP) Ram Gopal Yadav had complained to the Election Commission about six policemen of the district. Taking cognizance of the evidence given by them, Joint Director of Election Commission Anuj Chandak has sent a letter to the SP. It has been said in the letter that sub-inspectors Suresh Chandra, Kadir Shah, Sudhir Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Satyabhan and Rajkumar Goswami posted in the district should be immediately relieved of their posts. It has been said in the letter that the model code of conduct should be strictly followed. Action should be taken regarding non-compliance of the existing instructions of the Commission.
The Joint Director has given instructions to relieve the identified policemen. Along with this, an explanation has also been sought from the SP. This decision has been taken after a meeting of Election Commissioners Anoop Chandra Pandey and Arun Goyal under the chairmanship of Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv on the complaint of Professor Ramgopal Yadav.
There is an allegation of harassing SP leaders
The policemen on whom action has been taken on the instructions of the Election Commission are accused of torturing SP leaders. National Secretary of SP prof. Ramgopal Yadav had complained about this to the Election Commission on Wednesday itself. Following the order of the Election Commission, all the six policemen have been removed by the SP with immediate effect.
SP leaders allege that the said policemen were threatening party leaders and workers. He was behaving like this in favor of BJP. Former SP MLA Rajkumar Yadav says that seeing SP candidate Dimple Yadav winning, police is doing this kind of work at the behest of BJP. After the complaint of the SP leaders, its complaint was made to the Election Commission.
