MLA from Mainpuri Sadar seat and cabinet ministers of the state Jaiveer Singh, Rakesh Sachan, Girish Chandra Yadav, Babyrani Maurya, Yogendra Upadhyay, Dayashankar Singh along with the entire cabinet and cabinet campaigned in favor of BJP in Mainpuri. If we talk about the leaders of the Central Government, Union Minister Prof. Apart from SP Singh Baghel, BL Verma, Etawah MP Ramshankar Katheria, Kannauj MP Subrat Pathak, Etah MP Rajveer Singh Raju Bhaiya, Farrukhabad MP Mukesh Rajput, Firozabad MP Chandrasen Jadaun and other leaders also showed their full strength.
On the other hand, along with SP President Akhilesh Yadav, former minister Shivpal Singh Yadav, former MP Dharmendra Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav and the entire Saifai clan campaigned shoulder to shoulder. SP’s MLAs and state workers also stayed in Mainpuri Lok Sabha constituency for almost a month. When the results came on Thursday, the BJP got defeated. Along with the Uttar Pradesh government, the Union Ministers and MPs also could not sail through the BJP. Ultimately, the Saifai family prevailed in the entire government and the SP won.
Apart from the Chief Minister and the Ministers, the BJP’s state and Braj area executive also remained steadfast in Mainpuri during the entire election. State BJP President Bhupendra Singh Chowdhary kept coming and going for the Mainpuri election campaign, while State General Secretary Ashwani Tyagi, State General Secretary Organization Dharampal Singh remained firm in Mainpuri during the entire election. Apart from this, the entire executive including Brij area president Rajnikant Maheshwari kept camping in Mainpuri, but instead of increasing BJP’s vote, it decreased on the contrary.
The BJP was busy campaigning for the bypolls with such vigor that even in Mulayam’s bastion Karhal, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath did not miss out on holding a public meeting. Karhal is the same seat from where SP chief and leader of the opposition in Uttar Pradesh assembly, Akhilesh Yadav is currently the MLA. Here on November 28, CM Yogi held a public meeting in support of the BJP candidate. But from here the BJP got the biggest defeat in all the four assemblies of the district.
