Apart from Dimple Yadav, Samajwadi Party was considering the names of Tej Pratap Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav as candidates from Mainpuri, but on Thursday, the name of Dimple Yadav has been approved. Dimple was earlier MP from Kannauj. He also contested from Firozabad, but had to face defeat. The election of Dimple Yadav will be conducted by the party’s national president Akhilesh Yadav himself.

Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (Subhasp) has also played a key role in the Mainpuri by-election. The party’s national president and former cabinet minister Om Prakash Rajbhar (OP Rajbhar) had announced the Subhaspa candidate on Wednesday. He has fielded Ramakant Kashyap as a candidate in the Mainpuri by-election. Ramakant Kashyap is a resident of Etawah. However, the BJP has not yet announced the name of its candidate.
