SP candidate Dimple Yadav has got the mandate in the by-election for Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat. He has defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya by a huge margin of 2.88 lakh votes. Dimple along with SP National President Akhilesh Yadav took the certificate of victory by reaching the counting place. After this, Akhilesh and Dimple met the media. Akhilesh Yadav said that this victory is a true tribute to Netaji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) by the voters of Mainpuri. This victory has defeated negative politics.

Netaji’s daughter-in-law Dimple Yadav has won as an SP candidate in the by-election for the Mainpuri Lok Sabha seat, which fell vacant after the death of SP patron Mulayam Singh Yadav. The main contest in the by-election was between the SP and the BJP. Dimple Yadav defeated BJP candidate Raghuraj Singh Shakya by 2 lakh 88 thousand 461 votes. Dimple Yadav got six lakh 18 thousand 120 votes. While the BJP candidate got three lakh 29 thousand 659 votes.

SP national president Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav reached the Naveen Mandi campus after the election results were announced. Here District Election Officer Avinash Krishna Singh handed over the certificate of victory to him. There was an atmosphere of celebration among the workers across the district on the victory of the SP candidate. The party high command had appealed to express happiness with simplicity. Despite this, its workers distributed sweets and burst fireworks across the district.

Police and security forces kept vigil across the district from the counting venue to the counting of the Lok Sabha by-elections. Police and PAC were deployed along with para military forces at the counting site. After the declaration of results, PAC and paramilitary personnel also took out a foot march to maintain peace.
