Mumbai: Aditya Thackeray, the youth leader of the Uddhav Thackeray faction, has alleged that the Shinde-Fadnavis government of the state is looting the BMC. He has exposed the scam in the cement-concrete road contract in Mumbai. According to Aditya Thackeray, this tender worth Rs 6,080 crore has been issued for 400 km of roads, but 48 per cent profit has been given to the contractors. The Yuva Sena chief lashed out at the state government in a press conference on Friday.
The working period in Mumbai is from October 1 to May 31, as the rest of the time it rains, he added. All these works are completed first regarding the preparations for the monsoon. However, no studies have been done in this regard. Now the big question is whether these works will be completed ahead of time or not.
arbitrariness in BMC
Aditya Thackeray said that the Chief Minister does not know how things work in Mumbai. When there is no body in the municipal corporation and there is one or the other mayor, then how has the administrator approved these works. This is a great question. He said that this tender money belongs to the pockets of Mumbaikars, but this tender was issued without any planning. Aditya Thackeray raised the question that when the present Chief Minister was a minister for the last seven years, why did he not get cemented roads constructed in Thane.
400 km of works at once is impossible as it requires Traffic Police NOCs + NOC from 42 underground utilities.
Fair season (October to May) is half way through and we are in Feb.This is 3 years tenders + 6 years work in 1 time. What if tender costs less next year?

Dictatorship in the last six months
Aditya Thackeray said that it seems that for the last six months, dictatorship on the lines of Mughal rulers is going on in the state. During the Ganpati procession, Shinde faction MLA Sada Saravankar opened fire, but no action has been taken against him. There have been many incidents of police beating and abusing in the state. No action has been taken on this also. In the last six months, we have been continuously demanding help to the farmers, but the government is asleep. This government is trying to save the governor who insulted great men. Aditya Thackeray said that we also raised the issue of NIT land scam in the winter session of Nagpur, but this too has been put on the backburner.
