Nagpur/ Mumbai: Reacting to the statement of the Chief Minister of Karnataka, Devendra Fadnavis made it clear that not a single village in Maharashtra will go anywhere. While talking to reporters in Nagpur, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra said that not a single village of Maharashtra will go to Karnataka. The state government will fight to bring Marathi speaking villages including Belgaum-Karwar-Nipani into our state.
Fadnavis further said that the Jat village of Sangli has not yet decided to move to Karnataka, that was in 2012. We have already decided to start the modified scheme of Maisal to provide water to those villages.

40 gram panchayats decide to join Karnataka
It is worth mentioning that, earlier Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai had said that Karnataka is seriously considering claiming the Jat taluka of Sangli district of Maharashtra. Jat taluka of Sangli district is drought prone. There is acute shortage of water. Because of this, 40 gram panchayats there have decided to join Karnataka. Bommai said that the Karnataka government is considering this proposal.
