The crumbling structure of the Congress in Maharashtra can get new energy if the Congress leaders of the state learn something from Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and take a pledge to make the party strong and united by staying connected with each other. This visit took place at a time when the Congress leaders were demoralized after the fall of the Mahavikas Aghadi government in the state. The frustration that came from being away from the involvement of power surrounded him.

Anyway, Congress is at number three in Aghadi compared to Shiv Sena and NCP. When a party is weak in the state, the confidence of its leaders is shaken. The factionalism of the party emerges and some leaders start thinking of changing sides and going to another party, believing that there is nothing here. Rahul Gandhi’s visit changed the atmosphere and revived the Congress.

Earlier it was discussed that leaders like Ashok Chavan, Amit Deshmukh, Dheeraj Deshmukh, Milind Deora, Aslam Sheikh may leave Congress but Rahul miraculously changed the atmosphere through his visit. Dissatisfied and desperate leaders came together and started marching. Ashok Chavan took full responsibility of the yatra in Marathwada’s Nanded, Milind Deora also participated in the yatra.

Ashok Chavan said that there has been a big change in Rahul’s image with the Congress getting new strength from this visit. They will prove to be game changers. Huge crowds thronged Rahul’s travels and meetings voluntarily. Now the Congress leaders of the state have understood that the party needs to remove its laxity and work unitedly with new zeal and enthusiasm and go among the people.

Along with removing factionalism, that suicidal tendency has to be stopped in which a leader pulls the leg of another leader of his own party. Definitely Rahul Gandhi woke up the sleeping Congress and brought new consciousness in it. The way he managed to bring the leaders of all the factions on one platform, that process will have to be taken forward. Congress has workers in every village.

Only dynamism, vigor and enthusiasm have to be maintained in them. Rahul has done his work in Maharashtra, now the Congress leaders here have to decide whether they will learn something or go back to the old ways! It is the responsibility of the Congress leaders of the state to keep the lamp intact by adding the oil of party loyalty to the lamp that Rahul lit.
