The month-long Magh Mela, which began on the sands of Sangam with Paush Purnima Snan, has led to a scramble for land-facilities. The orders that were issued for the facilities three days before the Paush Purnima Snan festival, could not reach the camp office counter of the fair administration till morning. On the other hand, as soon as the office opened, a crowd of saints and directors of institutions started arriving for facilities. The Meladhikari handed over the responsibility of providing facilities to SDM Renu Singh while sitting in the office.
Some needed tap, kitchen, Tinghera, Banswada and some needed electricity connection and toilet. During this, the Meladhikari started meeting with the officers regarding the preparations for the bathing festival of Makar Sankranti. After some time, as soon as the Meladhikari’s room opened, a crowd of sages and saints entered. Within no time, dozens of sadhus entered the Meladhikari’s room and started sitting on tables and chairs one after the other.
During this, due to excessive pressure, the desk of the Meladhikari broke. The glasses of the table were also broken. The handles of many chairs were damaged. Despite the intervention of the security personnel, there continued to be ruckus amid the scuffle. After the table was broken, the Meladhikari pacified the atmosphere by getting people out with the help of the police.
