Nagpur. Now the havoc of Lumpi, which is caused by cow-grade cattle, is increasing in the district. Every day 1-2 cattle were being killed, but due to the death of 9 cattle on Thursday, there has been a stir among the livestock owners. The campaign to vaccinate cattle to protect them from lumpi is going on by the Animal Promotion Department, but the infection is increasing and the number of deaths is also increasing. With the death of 9 cattle on Thursday, a total of 86 cattle have fallen prey to this infection in the district.

For a long time, the department has been giving information about getting infected cattle only in 109 villages of the district, while public representatives working in rural areas say that cattle are infected on a large scale in many villages and in urban areas. So far, a total of 2,457 cattle have been infected, out of which 86 have died. Although 1,738 have become healthy due to treatment, 634 infected are undergoing treatment. Of these, the condition of 54 infected is said to be critical.

A total of 3,88,539 cattle have been vaccinated by the department so far. The officers of the department have appealed to the animal owners and farmers to inform the concerned Gram Panchayat or the department on seeing any symptoms of lumpi so that immediate treatment can be started.
