On Wednesday, the Lucknow bench of the High Court heard the petition of Professor Vinay Pathak, Vice Chancellor of Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj University (CSMU), Kanpur. Now the decision on this will be pronounced at 2 pm on Thursday. The debate in the court lasted for about one and a half hours.
Pro. Vinay Pathak had filed a petition in the Lucknow Bench of the High Court challenging the FIR registered against him. Hearing on this petition was fixed for Wednesday before a division bench of Justice Rajesh Singh Chauhan and Justice Vivek Kumar Singh. Additional Advocate General Vinod Kumar Shahi appeared on behalf of the state government.
Pro. In the petition filed by Vinay Pathak, a demand has been made to quash the FIR registered against him at the Indira Nagar police station in Lucknow. Along with this, a request was also made in the petition for an immediate stay on the arrest. On October 29, this FIR was lodged by David Mario Dennis at Indira Nagar police station. According to which, during his tenure as the Vice Chancellor of Agra University, Prof. Vinay Pathak and another accused had charged 15 percent commission from him for the payment of works done by his company. A total of one crore 41 lakh rupees have been extorted from him. The FIR also mentioned threat to their lives from the accused.
