The matter of road sinking in Vikas Nagar of the capital Lucknow will be investigated. For this, the Public Works Department has constituted a three-member committee.
The responsibility of investigation has been entrusted to the committee of Additional Commissioner, Lucknow Division, Chief Engineer, Water Works Department and Superintending Engineer, Public Works Department. The inquiry committee has been expected to submit its report in two days.
District in-charge minister and Public Works Minister Jitin Prasad wrote a letter to the divisional commissioner and directed him to investigate and fix the responsibility on the road collapse.
In a letter sent to the Divisional Commissioner, Minister in-charge of the district, Jitin Prasad had said that the Executive Engineer Provincial Block Public Works Department has told him that this road is owned by the Public Works Department. Jal Nigam’s sewer trunk line is passing through the middle of the road.
The soil beneath the road has been eroded due to breaking of trunk line pipe or opening of joint. Let us investigate how this happened. Whoever is found negligent in this, his responsibility should be fixed and action should be taken.
