A case of embarrassing relations has come to light from Puranpur area of Pilibhit. When she protested against drinking alcohol here, husband tied both hands of pregnant Suman of Ghungchai village and dragged her from the bike. People gathered on making noise. But no one could dare to save him. The brother barely saved Suman, who was dragged to her maternal home about 100 meters away in the locality itself. On the complaint, the police got Sunita’s medical done as well as took the accused husband into custody. Both of them got married three years back.
The incident took place on Saturday in village Ghungchai. The love affair started between village residents Suman and Ramgopal four years back. Initially the family members protested. Suman’s parents had died. The two got married three years ago in a mass wedding ceremony. Everything went on well for a few days.
Suman alleges that after a few days of marriage, the husband became addicted to drugs. There was often a fight between the two when they protested. Suman is eight months pregnant. He told that on Saturday afternoon Ramgopal reached home after drinking alcohol. He objected. On this, the husband thrashed Suman fiercely at home. Later tied both his hands behind and tied a rope to the bike and dragged him to the village.
Ramgopal’s brother and mother, who were present in the house at the time of the incident, protested and tried to save him. Ram Gopal started quarreling with him also. Seeing the wife being tied to the bike and being dragged away, a crowd gathered. But no one tried to save. Ramgopal dragged Suman on his bike till about 100 meters away to her maternal home. Suman’s brother Vaishpal barely saved her.
The police reached the information and took Ramgopal into custody. The police has got Suman’s medical done. Ghungchai SO Rajendra Singh Sirohi told that Ram Gopal has been arrested. A report has been registered for dragging and beating Suman with the intention of killing her on the complaint of Vaishpal, the brother of the married woman.
