yavatmal, Liquor sale will remain closed in the district on Holi festival. Because of this, smugglers including vendors are also engaged in planning liquor. District police team has taken action against illegal liquor vendors. In this, goods worth Rs 7 lakh 54 thousand 845 have been seized in 186 cases. The action has been taken by the district police team and the crime branch squad.
Holi festival is celebrated on a large scale in the district on Monday and then Rangotsav on Tuesday. District Superintendent of Police Dr. Pawan Bansod had given orders to all the police stations including the crime branch to conduct a special campaign to take action regarding illegal liquor in the district so that no untoward incident takes place during this festival.
Campaign launched in the district
A special campaign regarding illegal liquor was launched in the entire district. In this, a total of 181 cases were registered on a single day against illegal domestic, foreign storage and traffic and goods worth Rs 7 lakh 54 thousand 845 were seized. This includes action taken by the local crime branch.
On behalf of the local crime branch, 2 lakh 34 thousand rupees were raided on illegal liquor in Parva village of Avudhatwadi area, goods worth 1 lakh 84 thousand 860 rupees were raided in villages Karanji and Mukta of Pandharkavda area, raid in village Tivasa of Darwa area. Tax 16,000, a total of Rs 7 lakh 54 thousand 845 goods have been seized from other places including Rs 50,000 by raiding village Khardgaon under Ner police station area. The action has been taken by the officer and crime branch of the police station under the guidance of all senior officers.
