Kendrapada : During the immersion ceremony of Lord Kartikeshwar’s idol, a major accident took place on Wednesday when bursting of firecrackers. About 50 people have been injured in the incident, they have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Of these, 25 people are seriously burnt. This created panic in the whole area and there is information that Vedic help and police investigation is on.
According to the information given by Kendrapada DM Amrit Rituraj to ANI or Vrittasansthela, a firecracker bursting competition would have been organized in various puja pandals at the place of immersion. At the same time, the splinters coming out of the firecrackers fell on the firecrackers, due to which there was an explosion and the people were happy. More than 50 people who were present at the spot were injured and some of them were most affected at the place of explosion.
Locals claim that more than 20 rockets were fired at the same time. After that there was an explosion and fire could be seen everywhere. SCB Medical College and Hospital have made special arrangements for the treatment of burn patients.
