In Jaunpur, a Kanungo i.e. Revenue Inspector of Badlapur tehsil was arrested by the team of anti-corruption organization Varanasi on Tuesday evening while taking bribe of Rs.7000 in the name of demarcation of land. He was arrested near Lohinda Square.
Demarcation of the fallow land adjacent to the Bhumidhari land of Ravindra Kumar Maurya, a resident of Salamatpur, located in Tejibazar police station area of Badlapur tehsil, was to be done. In lieu of that demarcation, Kanungo Ramsakal Yadav of that area was demanding bribe. Ravindra complained about this to the Prevention of Corruption Organization. On the same basis, the team of Varanasi unit, which reached Badlapur on Tuesday evening, arrested him while accepting Rs 7,000 from a sweet shop located near Lohinda Square. Team in-charge Inspector Upendra Singh Yadav, Ashok Kumar Singh, Sandhya Singh, Chief Constable Shailendra Kumar Rai, Puneet Kumar Singh etc. were included in the team.
PWD clerk was caught sneaking in this month
A clerk of the Public Works Department was also arrested by the Anti-Corruption Unit team in the same month in connection with corruption. On January 3, clerk Yogendra Yadav was arrested while taking bribe of Rs 45,000 in front of the PWD office in Rasulabad, Jaunpur. He was taking a bribe of Rs 45 thousand from a contractor instead of paying the bill.
