In Kanpur’s Shivrajpur, brother thrashed sister for not giving money for liquor on Bhai Dooj. Angered by this, the sister consumed poisonous substance. Seeing the condition of his sister getting worse, the brother also swallowed poison. The relatives took both of them to Halat where they died. On the day of Bhai Dooj late Thursday evening, Ashish Kumar (20), elder son of Surendra Babu, resident of Ishepur village of Shivrajpur, asked sister Deeksha (18) for money to drink alcohol.

On this Deeksha refused to give the money. Angered by this, Ashish beats up Diksha. Diksha consumed poison after being angry with his brother’s beating. Seeing his sister’s condition getting worse, Ashish also swallowed poisonous substance due to the fear of his family members. Seeing the condition of both of them getting worse, younger brother Deepak informed the family members.
