On February 13, a mother and daughter were burnt to death in a hut that caught fire during the removal of encroachment in Chalha village of Madauli Gram Panchayat in Kanpur Dehat. The victim’s family had registered in the FIR that 22 goats were also burnt to death in the incident.

At the same time, the SIT probing the case on Thursday recovered 19 goats of the victim’s family from the house of a villager. The death of a goat due to illness has come to the fore. The SIT has handed over the goats to the victim’s family.

Now the SIT is trying to find out how the goats reached there. At the same time, the SIT recorded statements of eight people, including a part of the victim’s family, the head of the village, on Thursday. So far statements of 26 people have been recorded.
