New Delhi: This year ‘Jaya Ekadashi’ is today i.e. on February 1, Wednesday. ‘Jaya Ekadashi’ fast is observed on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Magh month. According to astrology, consumption of tamasic food is prohibited on this day. Doing so can be harmful. Do not consume alcohol, meat, onion or garlic on this day.
Take only satvik diet. Broom should not be used in the house on this day. This is because the fear of killing small creatures increases with the use of a broom, which can lead to the crime of killing animals. It is said that the sadhaks observing Ekadashi fast should not think bad or bitter about any other person. Doing so can have the opposite effect.

Do this work on Jaya Ekadashi
Holy bath and donation have special significance on Jaya Ekadashi. Therefore, if possible on this day, take a bath in the holy river Ganga and donate saffron, turmeric or banana.
Observe fast on the day of Ekadashi and listen to Jaya Ekadashi Vrat Katha. Doing this is considered extremely fruitful for the seekers and the devotees get the blessings of Lord Vishnu.
