The crisis of private sector airline SpiceJet is not decreasing. In the latest case, the maximum limit of 50 per cent on airline flights has been increased by a little over a month. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has also issued an order in this regard.

A day earlier, there was news of SpiceJet sending 80 employees on forced leave due to salary crunch. In the midst of this news, SpiceJet’s stock closed down more than 4 percent in Wednesday’s trade. By the end of trading, there was such a selling environment that the stock closed at Rs 41.85, down 4.01%.

Since when is flight services closed: In fact, on July 27, the DGCA had ordered SpiceJet to operate a maximum of 50 per cent flights. The order was for eight weeks. The decision was taken due to frequent lapses in the airline’s flights. Now DGCA has said – Review shows that there has been a significant reduction in security related incidents.

However, taking additional precautions, the competent authority has decided that the restrictions imposed in the order dated July 27, 2022 will remain in force till October 29, 2022. During this time up to 50 percent flights can be operated. Apart from this, permission of DGCA will have to be taken for the operation of flights.

SpiceJet is in trouble: Let us tell you that SpiceJet has been facing a cash crunch for a long time. SpiceJet had reported a net loss of Rs 789 crore in the June quarter and Rs 458 crore in the March quarter. The company has sent 80 pilots on leave without pay for three months from September 21.
