A habeas corpus petition has been filed in the Allahabad High Court demanding the production of two close aides of Purvanchal’s mafia don Mukhtar Ansari in the court. The petition states that Mukhtar’s close aides Junaid and Mateen were taken away by the police on February 26 and kept in illegal custody.
Till now he has not been produced in the court and his arrest has also not been shown. Their families were not even told in which case they were detained, which is a clear violation of the Supreme Court’s judgment in the DK Vasu case. Advocate Upendra Upadhyay said in the petition that both of them should be released from illegal police custody. has been demanded.
In the case, the Banda police caught both of them at eight o’clock on the night of February 26 and kept them in illegal custody. Secretary Home, DG STF, SP Chitrakoot, SP Banda and SHO Kotwali Banda have been made parties in the habeas corpus petition.
