The incessant rains in Hathras have put the farmers in trouble. According to the farmers, due to unseasonal rains, potato and mustard crops will suffer a lot. However, rain is said to be beneficial for the wheat crop.
Potato crop is being grown in more than 47 thousand area in the district. By the end of January, farmers start preparing for digging the potato crop. Till now the farmers were worried about Pala and Sulsa disease, but the rains from Sunday night to Monday afternoon have made the farmers sweat in the cold. While the potato crop has been flooded, the mustard crop has fallen due to the strong wind that accompanied the rain.
