The process of ration card application in Hathras district has come to a standstill for almost a month. The needy are circling the supply offices and public service centers. They are returned citing closure of e-district portal. In such a situation, the applicants are getting very upset.
There are 16,850 Antyodaya card holders in the district while 2,72,600 are eligible Grihasthi card holders. One can apply for ration card by registering on the e-district portal. But the e-district portal is closed in the district for the last one month. In such a situation, the process of ration card application has come to a standstill.
Eligible beneficiaries are not able to apply for new ration cards. Applicants are making rounds of public service centers and fulfillment offices. According to the officers, due to the closure of the portal, the departmental officers are not able to put their reports even on the applications in the past.
The process of ration card application is closed on the e-district portal for about a month. Higher officials have been informed about this matter. The process of ration card application will start again when the portal opens. Dhruv Raj Yadav, DSO
