19 thousand tubewell consumers of Hathras district will get the benefit of electricity waiver. The electricity department gets a revenue of Rs 2.5 crore every month from these consumers. The department gets revenue of about Rs 31 crore in the whole year.
These days the work of installing meters is going on. The consumers who will not get meters installed. Those tube well consumers will not get the benefit of electricity bill waiver. It is noteworthy that on the instructions of the government, bill waiver has been announced for tubewell farmers. Earlier farmers were being charged Rs 175 as per horse power. Now, in the budget that came in the past, it has been said to waive the electricity bill of the tubewell farmers from the state level. This will benefit 17 thousand farmers of the district.
The revenue of about Rs 31 crore comes from these farmers in the whole year. The special thing is that till March 31, meters are being installed by the department to assess the consumption of about 11 thousand consumers. Farmers are reluctant to install meters. If he does not get the meter installed, he will be deprived of electricity bill waiver.
In this case, Superintending Engineer MP Singh says that meters are being installed to assess the consumption of tube well farmers. Those who do not install meters will not get the benefit of electricity bill waiver.
