Gujarat Polling: Second phase of polling in Gujarat today, voter duty for 93 seats


Ahmedabad : Voting for 93 constituencies is being held for the Gujarat Legislative Assembly today, Monday, in the second phase. Voting will be held mainly in the central and northern 14 districts of the state. In the first half of the phase, 89 constituencies in Saurashtra, Kutch and South Gujarat recorded an average voter turnout of 63.32 per cent on December 1.

In the second phase, 833 candidates from 61 political parties are contesting for 93 seats.

– Including BJP, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) contesting elections for the first time in the state.

According to the State Election Commission, only 285 independent candidates contested.

Voting will be held in Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Gandhinagar and other districts.

– Congress is contesting 90 Jaganwar elections, friendly party Nationalist Congress has fielded both Jaganwar candidates.

Last election…

There are 182 seats in the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.

– In the 2017 elections, the ruling BJP had 51 seats.

– Congressla 39, three independent candidates would have been elected.

– In central Gujarat, BJP got 37 seats, while Congress got 22 seats.

Only, 17 candidates of Congress and 14 candidates of BJP would have been elected in North Gujarat.

Lucknow : Today, on Monday, Potnivdanuk will be held for one Lok Sabha and both Vidhan Sabha seats in Uttar Pradesh. In this election, there will be a direct fight between the BJP and the Samajwadi Party-Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) alliance. BSP and Congress have not fielded their candidates for either seat. Voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm, results will be declared on 8th December.
