Government 65 obsolete laws;  Information of Union Law Minister Rijiju


Circle Institute, Panaji : Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju has informed that the government will bring a bill to repeal 65 obsolete laws and other amendments in the second phase of the budget session. The second phase of the convention will start from 13th March.

He used to speak at the Legislative Conference of the 23rd Constituent Assembly in Govt. Rijiju said, more than 4.98 crore cases are pending in various courts of the country. Only the cases will be taken out on priority basis. Our judges are hearing 50 to 60 cases during the day. Some judges are handling more than two cases. Still the number of pending beds is increasing, said Rijiju. He said that making the courts paperless is the ultimate goal of the government.

Laws are for the people and if they become difficult, then they start feeling burdened. It is necessary to cancel such laws. In the last eight and a half years, 1 thousand 486 obsolete and unnecessary laws have been cancelled. Rijiju said that it would cost 65 cents.
