A fire broke out in the garbage lying near RKVK located in Mohaddipur in Gorakhpur on Monday, burning the wire of the electric cable box. Due to this the feeders of Mohaddipur power house started tripping alternately. Due to this, the electricity of 40 thousand houses in many areas was cut off for more than 13 hours.

According to the engineers of the Electricity Corporation, garbage is dumped on the side of the bridge from the side of the Municipal Corporation. Nearby shopkeepers also throw garbage there. Someone set this garbage on fire at 4 am on Monday morning. The fire reached the HT bus passing through.

Due to this, along with Khorabar, Sahara Estate, AIIMS, Air Force power house, cables of high tension line leading to GRD were damaged by burning. Due to this there was a power failure at 5 in the morning. People of more than 40 thousand houses in the areas got upset due to power cut in the morning. After the repair work, power supply could be restored after 7 pm.

On the other hand, after the information of the incident, Chief Engineer Ashu Kalia and Superintending Engineer UC Verma reached the spot at 10 am and got the improvement work done under their supervision.
