Due to the cold winds blowing from the mountains, the maximum temperature reached 11.5 degrees Celsius, down one degree from 12.8 on Monday. Gorakhpur remained under severe cold-day for the ninth consecutive day. The minimum temperature rose marginally. It was recorded 6.8 on Monday, which increased to 7.3 degree Celsius on Tuesday.
The process of fog which started from 11 o’clock on Tuesday night remained intact till Wednesday morning. Although the fog cleared from the earth around 12 o’clock, but the fog remained in the upper atmosphere. Since the beginning of the new year, the suffering of the people has increased due to the continuation of the cold.
Vaishali reached Gorakhdham in the morning and late in the evening
Trains got stuck in the dense fog on Tuesday as well. The Vaishali Express that arrived on Tuesday morning arrived at 5 in the evening, while the Gorakhdham Express reached Gorakhpur Junction at around 12 in the night. Passengers and their family members got upset while waiting for the train in the bitter cold.
Similarly, Vaishali Express coming from Delhi was delayed by 7:25 hours and Saptakranti Express by 4:25 hours. Apart from this, Baja Express reached the railway station three and a half hours late, Avadh Express three hours late.
