In Gorakhpur district, the police have refrained from taking action against the gang of women who extorted money from the victims by registering fake cases of rape. Even after registering the case on August 7, the police has neither been able to nab a single accused nor has taken any such action which would create fear among the accused involved in the gang. On the other hand, the troubled victim is pleading for action by giving an application to the officers.

This is the condition of the police when even ADG Akhil Kumar, IG J Ravindra Gaur have summoned the scrutinizer regarding its progress report. According to the information, in May 2022, the victim Khalid, a resident of Campierganj, had complained to the ADG. On the orders of ADG, SSP got the investigation done by CO Bansgaon and CO Cantt.

During investigation, it was found that the gang members were extorting money by registering fake cases. After the matter was confirmed in the investigation, a case was registered at the Cantt police station on August 7. But the police has not been able to move even a single step till date. Whereas, the police officers themselves also believe that since the registration of the case, the number of rape cases registered through the court has decreased. SP City Krishna Kumar Vishnoi says that the matter is serious. Will be investigated. Strict action will be taken against the accused.
