The case of demanding extortion from the youth for not registering the land has come to the fore. In this case, after registering a case on Sunday, the police arrested the accused. The Cantt Police is raiding in search of other accused.
The apprehended accused was identified as history-sheeter Ranjit Nishad alias Pappu Nishad, resident of Bhowapar, Belipar. Presently he lives in Kuda Ghat. In-charge Inspector Cantt said that Riya Nishad, a resident of Singhadia, had registered the case.
Riya told that her husband Ratan Lal Nishad is pressurizing Ranjit Nishad to forcibly register the land. For not agreeing, he has been threatening for four-five months.
Inspector-in-charge told that on January 27, Ranjit Nishad reached Riya’s house with three-four companions and started pressurizing her husband to sell the land. In the event of not giving the land, he started demanding extortion of three lakh rupees. When the matter came to notice, the police registered a case against Ranjit, Amit Shukla and four-five people and arrested Ranjit.
