New Delhi : All the petitions filed in various High Courts of the country demanding legal recognition of same-sex marriages have been filed before the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has decided to collect all the petitions and hold a combined hearing on them in March.

Gay marriages should get legal recognition; Also, to get all government and statutory rights as married, petitions demanding such are filed before various high courts of the country. Whether the issue was a combined hearing, for this the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Dhananjay Chandrachud, Ny. P.S. Narsingh and Ny. J. B. Pardiwala’s bench or all the petitions have been collected. The division bench has given instructions to the central government to file a joint reply on all the petitions by February 15. While collecting all the petitions before the High Courts, the Benches have made such arrangements that the petitioners will get a chance to present themselves. When the hearing starts in front of the Supreme Court, none of the petitioners remain physically present in the court, even if their statement will be heard through video conferencing, the division bench has assured everyone by giving this decision. The division bench has informed the central government and the petitioners to raise their legal issues in this matter. There is only one petitioner or new one who is deprived of the process, the bench has informed the central government lawyers to take care of the petitioner.

‘The petition regarding same-sex marriage is pending before the Delhi High Court, the decision should be waited till then, or a separate petition should be filed in the High Court,’ Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the Central Government, put forward this option before the Supreme Court. Yes, various petitioners also gave their support. After this, the decision of collecting the court or petition was announced.
