A fire broke out on Tuesday evening at the e-rickshaw battery charging center located on the first floor of SS Complex in Badshahnagar, Lucknow. The employee present at the center was burnt alive in the accident. At the same time, due to the filling of smoke, the breath of those exercising in the gym on the second floor started to swell.

Police and fire brigade took out 25 people by installing stairs from the side after breaking the glass of the building. Eight fire engines had to be deployed in the rescue operation which lasted for about an hour. In the initial investigation, short circuit is being told as the reason for the accident. Police has sent the dead body for postmortem.

ADCP Central Rajesh Kumar Srivastava Anil Rathore, a resident of Viram Khand of Gomtinagar, has SS complex in Badshahnagar. It has bank’s office on the ground floor and Rahul Singh’s e-rickshaw battery charging center on the first floor. Olympia Gym is on the second floor. A sudden fire broke out in the battery charging center at around 5.30 pm. In a few seconds it spread throughout the shop.

Due to this, Ashwani Tiwari (35), a resident of Talkatora, who was inside, could not even get a chance to get out and was burnt alive. On the other hand, about 25 people present in the gym were also trapped due to the filling of smoke. The fire could be brought under control after about an hour’s struggle. During this, all the people were safely evacuated from the gym. DM Suryapal Gangwar and the medical team were also present on the spot.
