This is not a matter of religion or caste change, but a game of supply department wrapped in corruption. In Etah district, wrong names are registered in the ration cards of many people, due to which the ration card holders are also worried. The name of a Muslim member is registered in someone’s ration card, while in someone the caste has been changed.
Ration is being digested by adding the names of SC (Scheduled Caste) members in the ration cards of Hindu families and Muslim members in the families of backward castes. This type of exploit is being executed in all the blocks. Due to this, the ration dealers save huge amount of ration. It is later black marketed. All the cases are in the knowledge of the department, yet no action is taken.
Case: 1
A total of eight members are registered in Rekha Devi’s card in Chirgawan Gram Panchayat of Jalesar block area. Seven Hindus and one name of Zainul Abedin are associated with it. Its father is written as Mohammad Arif. Zainul has been described as Rekha Devi’s nephew. While Rekha Devi says that she does not even know Zainul.
Case: 2
Maya Devi belongs to backward class in this Gram Panchayat. There are a total of eight units in his card. Two units have been registered from SC (surname Bharti). Both are depicted as grandsons of Maya Devi.

Similar discrepancies were also found in the cards of Agarpur dealer of village Devkaranpur gram panchayat of Jalesar block area. When complaints were made in the past, many names were immediately removed from the cards. The question is, despite all the rules of investigation, how do wrong names get added?
DSO Kamlesh Gupta told that after joining here, complete verification is done to increase the new unit. If any wrong names have already been linked, it is not known, then we will get the investigation done.
