Jakarta: Earthquake tremors were felt in various parts of Indonesia’s capital Jakarta and the main island of Java on Thursday morning. However, there is currently no news of loss of life or property during this period. Skyscrapers in the capital Jakarta were shaking for several seconds due to the earthquake. An evacuation order was also issued for residents in some buildings.
The US Geological Survey said the earthquake measured 5.8 on the Richter scale. Its epicenter was 14 kilometers northwest of Siranjang-Hilir in West Java province at a depth of 123.7 kilometers.
