The minimum temperature on Friday night reached 14.0 degree Celsius, which has come down to 10.2 degree Celsius on Saturday night. This is the lowest temperature of this season so far. The temperature of Bramhapuri in the district has been estimated to be even lower at 9.6 degrees Celsius.
Since the beginning of the new year, the ups and downs in temperature are going on continuously. Due to respite from the cold in the last two days, it was expected that it would increase now, but once again the weather has taken a turn. The average minimum temperature in the district is considered to be 11 degrees. As soon as the mercury falls below this, one starts feeling cold. Till 24 hours ago, due to the temperature being at 14 degrees, the cold was not felt that much. But after about three to four days on Saturday, after rain and clouds, the sun appeared in its heat during the day and as soon as the night fell, the atmosphere started to look like a freezer.
To avoid the cold, people were seen in warm clothes and people who stayed late at night at intersections and public places were seen avoiding the cold by lighting bonfires. The effect of cold was that the water filled on Saturday was as cold as ice. Due to Sunday holiday, most of the people were lurking in their homes in the morning. People’s movement was seen after the sun started shining.
Since Chandrapur district is a hot district, the cold does not last here for long. In the cold season, there is severe cold for one or two days, after that the weather becomes completely normal. But this year, due to the monsoon showing a lot of kindness to the district, it was being predicted that there would be severe cold. But even after the passage of October, November and December, the temperature came down below 11 degrees Celsius. As soon as January starts, now the cold is showing its effect.
