Shiv Sena Dussehra Rally: There is a competition between Uddhav Thackeray faction and Eknath Shinde faction over Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park ground. Now on Tuesday, the Uddhav Thackeray faction has made a big announcement regarding this rally. The Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena said it would hold the party’s annual Dussehra rally at the Shivaji Park ground whether the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) gives its approval or not.
A delegation of Shiv Sena leaders, led by former Mumbai Mayor Milind Vaidya, met civic officials to inquire about the status of their application for permission to hold the rally. He said whether we get permission or not, we will gather at Shivaji Park. The administration should either allow us or deny us. We are very firm on our decision (to rally at Shivaji Park).
Both the factions face to face on the rally
“If we don’t get any reply, then Shiv Sena workers of Balasaheb will gather at Shivaji Park for Dussehra rally,” he said. Let us tell you that both the Thackeray-led faction and the Shiv Sena faction led by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde have both sought permission to organize a Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Shiv Sena has been holding Dussehra rally at this venue since its inception.
BMC has not yet taken any decision on this issue. Both the factions have also applied for permission to hold a rally at the MMRDA ground of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) as an alternative. However, last week the Shinde faction has been given permission to hold a rally in BKC.
Uddhav Thackeray’s permission should be given to Shiv Sena: Pawar
Meanwhile, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajit Pawar said that the Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena should be allowed to hold a rally at Shivaji Park and if permission is not granted. So they should take recourse to the law. Pawar, an ally of the Thackeray-led Shiv Sena in the Maha Vikas Aghadi alliance, said that “if the BKC ground is provided for the Shinde faction, the Uddhav Thackeray-led faction should be allowed to hold a rally at Shivaji Park.”
