A new controversy surfaced in Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on Monday. Here the students of the College of Nursing of the Institute of Medical Sciences sat on a dharna. The students have blocked the college gate with posters and banners related to their demands. The students sitting on dharna are angry over non-allocation of hostels and non-payment of honorarium. All the girl students are also on strike in support of the students’ movement.
Health services at BHU hospital are affected due to sit-in by nursing students. The protesting students say that it is necessary to make an internship policy so that action can be taken on their demands. Said that Post Graduate MSc Nursing is not being started with 25 percent reservation quota.
No action even after calling several times
Even after doing the hard duty of the hospital along with studies, they have to wander for other facilities including hostel. Till now no action is being taken even after raising voice several times. Warned that IMS will not end the strike until the demand is accepted by the BHU administration.
