Bhiwandi: Cleanliness is the pride of the city. Sanitation is very important for the better health of the city dwellers. We all have the responsibility of city cleanliness. Along with the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation, the citizens of the city should participate in the cleanliness works. Expressing the above statement, the Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Vijay Kumar Mahsal launched the Maha Swachhta Abhiyan under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

On the said occasion, Additional Commissioner Omprakash Diwte, Municipal Deputy Commissioner Deepak Pujari, Deepak Jhinjhar, City Engineer LP Gaikwad, Chief Account Officer Kiran Tayde, Deputy Engineer Sandeep Somani, Sachin Naik, Sanitation Officer Hemant Gulvi, Assistant Commissioner Sunil Bhoir, Somnath Soshte, Sanitation Assistant Commissioner Preeti Gade, Education Board Assistant Commissioner Anuradha Babar, Pranali Ghonge, Nitin Patil, Raju Varlikar, Horticulture Department Head Nilesh Sankhe, Balaram Jadhav, Faizal Tatli, M.L. Sonavane, Dilip Khana and a huge army of municipal officers and sweepers were present.

Seva Pakhwada of Indian Sanitation League

It is noteworthy that on the completion of 2 years of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, as per the instructions of the Central Government, the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation organized a cleanliness campaign on the Swachhta Sewa Diwas under the Indian Cleanliness League undertaking. Various public welfare works are to be carried out in the organization of Seva Pakhwada of Swachhta League.

Cleanliness of Varala Devi Pond Complex

Under the leadership of Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation Commissioner Vijay Mhasal, a cleaning campaign was carried out by the army of municipal cleaners in about 5 km area of ​​​​Varala Devi Pond, after picking up garbage, soil, ballast and filling it in a truck, it was sent to the dumping ground. A program of cleanliness and beautification was carried out in the entire premises of Varaladevi pond by the team of municipal officials. Under the able guidance of Municipal Commissioner Mhasal and Additional Commissioner Omprakash Diwte, the work of cleaning the pond premises including tree plantation, garbage collection etc. was done. Youth associated with social organizations of the city, NCC and NSS students, teachers, various voluntary organizations, religious leaders, citizens, municipal employees participated in the cleanliness campaign unitedly. During the cleanliness drive, all the officers, employees, sanitation workers of the Municipal Corporation were seen cleaning the road and the surrounding premises.

Municipal Additional Commissioner Omprakash Diwte said that the city belongs to all of us. City cleanliness is the responsibility of every citizen. Along with the Municipal Corporation, citizens should cooperate in city cleanliness works. For better health, one should play an active part in sanitation works. In the cleanliness program organized by the Municipal Corporation under the Swachh Abhiyan, various voluntary organizations including BNN College, Oswal Mahavidyalaya, Baba High School, Pawar High School, Peem High School, GS Momin High School and various voluntary organizations including students, ex-servicemen, Bhiwandi Warrior, including religious leader Qureshi of Dawoodi Bohra society. Representatives were present in large numbers.
