Brother-in-law and brother-in-law, who were going to defecate on Saturday morning in Khanpur, Ballia, died after coming under the grip of the broken HT line wire in the field. On information, Sahatwar police took the dead body into custody and sent it for postmortem. On the other hand, angry villagers blocked the Haldi-Sahatwar road near Khanpur, shouting slogans against the electricity department, for not changing the wire even after several accidents. The police somehow got the jam opened by extinguishing it. Khanpur resident Sandeep Tiwari (18) son Rajesh Tiwari was going for defecation on Saturday morning along with his brother-in-law Ajay Pandey (24) son Ramesh Pandey, resident of Nashidipur in Ghazipur district. Had just gone about 100 meters away from the house that both of them came under the grip of a broken wire in the field. Due to this both died on the spot. Someone came home and told brother-in-law that the fields there have fallen. When the family members went and saw, both had died. There was chaos in the house due to the death of both. The family members were in bad condition by crying. The people of the house and the surrounding picked up both and took them to the doctor. There the doctor declared him dead.
Later, angry people blocked Haldi Sahatwar Marg in Khanpur. The villagers had alleged that the wire keeps breaking and falling here often. Within a year, five-six people have died due to electrocution. This was reported to the Electricity Department many times, but it was never taken care of. Tehsirdar and CO somehow pacified the angry people by extinguishing them. During this the road was blocked for four hours. Jurisdictionary officer Rajesh Kumar Tiwari said that written permission has been received from the higher authority of the electricity department. Compensation will be made available within 10-15 days.
