New Delhi. Today the dates for the assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland (Tripura, Nagaland, Maghalaya Vidhansabha Election) have been announced. The Election Commission has held a press conference in this regard. Along with this, the Election Commission also announced the dates for the assembly elections in Tripura, Meghalaya and Nagaland today.

Yes, this time elections will be held in two phases like last time in all the three states. In this, polling will be held in Tripura on 16 February. So on the other hand, voting will be held simultaneously in Nagaland and Meghalaya on 27th February. On the other hand, results will come in these three states on March 2.

Significantly, the Election Commission has made a four-day tour of these three states on last Sunday itself. At present, Tripura is ruled by the BJP, while in Meghalaya and Nagaland, the BJP is a major part of the ruling coalition. It should be known that voting was held in all the three states only in February last year.

Today at the press conference, the Chief Election Commissioner told that the voter list has been published. The number of women voters has increased in all the three states. While 2.28 lakh new voters were added in the three states, he said that 2,315 polling booths have been set up in Nagaland, 3,482 in Meghalaya and 3,328 in Tripura. This time web casting will also be done at 50% polling booths.

Let us inform that the term of assembly elections in Nagaland, Meghalaya and Tripura is about to end on March 12, March 15 and March 22 respectively. There are 60-60 seats in these three states only. Women’s voting participation has always been high in all these three states.

  • Nagaland: Total seats- 6-, Majority- 31

It may be known that earlier the Election Commission had taken a review of the election preparations in these three states. Then the Commission had also made a 4-day tour in these three election states of the North East. In this special tour that took place then, along with Chief Election Commissioner Rajeev Kumar, both commissioners Anoop Chandra Pandey and Arun Goyal were also present.
