In order to reduce the pollution in the rivers, the State Government in collaboration with IIT Kanpur has developed Kaushambi’s Kada Ghat as I Ghat i.e. Innovation Ghat. Now the boats in this ghat will not run on diesel but on solar energy. To charge these boats, the first solar energy floating station has been built here.

This station has been built under the pilot project of I-Ghat to be built in UP. Soon a floating station will also be built in Kanpur so that boats can run in the Ganges with eco-friendly batteries. The IIT had earlier built the first CNG floating station at Khidkian Ghat in Varanasi, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Rahul Patel of the Institute’s Incubation and Innovation Center said that with the help of Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, the station was handed over to the DM of Kaushambi on Friday. The boat’s battery will be charged at the floating station. The charging points at the center will be charged with solar energy and through that the battery will be charged.

This will increase the earnings of the boatmen and also reduce pollution. Head of the Center Prof. Ankush Sharma told that this station has been prepared by Aquafront Infrastructure of the institute’s incubator Ankit Patel. Ankit had built the floating station of Khidkian Ghat in Varanasi.
