The Allahabad High Court will hear the matter of construction of Banke Bihari Corridor and Ghats separately. The court said that the nature of both the cases is different, so the court will not hear both the cases together. The court will now hear the matter on February 28. A division bench of Acting Chief Justice Pritinkar Diwakar and Justice SD Singh was hearing the petitions including Anant Sharma and others.
Till now the matter was being heard by a division bench headed by the Chief Justice. Due to the appointment of former Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal to the Supreme Court, the case was heard on Tuesday before the Acting Chief Justice’s Bench. The court inquired about the status of different petitions filed in the matter. Advocate General Ajay Kumar Mishra said that the matter of construction of corridor and construction of ghats are different. Separate petitions are filed in both the cases. The government is doing its work in the matter of building the ghat.
Old ghats will also be renovated
On this objection was raised towards the petitioners that the government is constructing new ghats but ignoring the old ghats. On this, the court wanted to know the situation from the Advocate General. The Advocate General said that the government will also renovate the old ghats. He doesn’t mind. After this, the court wanted to know about the corridor construction case, then the petitioners told that the UP government has planned to get all the work done with the money of Banke Bihari Mandir Seva Samiti, while the services related to the Seva Samiti are being ignored. Only the servants take care of the temple. Apart from this, whatever construction structure has been prepared under the corridor, that area is under the ambit of ASI. So, there cannot be construction there. After understanding the matter, the court has fixed the date of February 28 for further hearing.
