Allahabad High Court: Relief to others including Lal brothers of Shuats, accused of conversion, stay on arrest A to Z Counsel

The Allahabad High Court has given relief by banning the arrest of Sam Higginbottom Agricultural University Shuates Naini, Prayagraj Vice Chancellor Professor RB Lal, Bhai Vinod B Lal and Mathew Samuel, among others. An FIR has been lodged against them in Fatehpur for forcibly converting them. The court has directed the petitioners to appear before the investigator on February 13 and 15 to record their statement and cooperate in the investigation.

The court has also directed that the petitioner should give an undertaking before the adjudicator on February 13 and surrender his passport. Till then they will not be arrested. This order has been given by Justice Manju Rani Chauhan. It was said that the allegations of forced conversion are baseless and politically motivated. The petitioner is not named in the FIR. His name was later included on the basis of the statement of two witnesses.
