The petition to transfer the cases of SP leader and former MP Azam Khan from Rampur to some other district will be heard in the Allahabad High Court on February 14. A reply has been filed in the High Court on behalf of the UP government and the district judge of Rampur. The court gave Azam Khan’s lawyers a week’s time to present their side.
This order was passed by Justice DK Singh on a petition to transfer six cases of Azam Khan from Rampur to another district. By filing a petition, a demand has been made to transfer the cases from Rampur. The trial of the cases is going on in the Special MP/MLA Court of Rampur. It has been said in the application that for fair trial of these cases, it is necessary to transfer them to some other district.
