The listening to on the appeal filed within the Allahabad High Court against the acquittal of Ghosi MP Atul Rai on fees of rape has been postponed. Now the second division bench will hear the matter.
The felony appeal of the state authorities was listed for listening to earlier than a division bench of Justice Ashwini Kumar Mishra and Justice Shiv Shankar Prasad. But, this division bench, due to lack of jurisdiction in MPMLA instances, recused itself from listening to and ordered to be produced earlier than the competent courtroom.
In the case, on August 6, 2022, the MPMLA Special Court Varanasi acquitted the MP for raping a lady pupil. The state authorities has challenged the identical resolution in appeal.
