On Sunday morning, the Forest Department team reached Saharanpur with him. Left him in the Mohand range of the Shivalik region late in the evening. Information is being gathered about where the leopard came from. Leopards are mostly found in sugarcane belt areas like Meerut, Baghpat, Bareilly, Greater Noida etc. In such areas only they get to eat sweets properly. It is estimated that this leopard might have come here from the sugarcane belt.

Bhola Khan of the village had informed the police about the presence of a leopard near his tubewell. Bhola Khan raised alarm after seeing suspicious claw marks on the doors of his tubewell. Fear is clearly visible among the villagers at the mere sound of the leopard’s arrival.

It is being told that the leopard’s family was also with them. Some suspicious footprints of leopard have also been seen in the fields. The possibility of leopard coming from a neighboring district is being expressed. The forest department team is investigating with the help of found footprints. Most of the villagers did not go towards the fields and forests on Sunday due to fear. Unable to muster the courage to go alone, people went in groups.
