The first season of Women’s Premier League (WPL 2023) is going to start from 4th March. The title match of this season will be held on March 26.

Significantly, this season a total of 5 teams will be in the field.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB): Owner- Diageo

3. Delhi Capitals (DC): Owner – JSW Group & GMR Group

4. Gujarat Giants (GT): Owner – Adani Group

5. UP Warriors (UPW): Owner- Kapri Global

The first match of this first season will be played on March 4 between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants in Mumbai (Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants WPL 2022). In this season lasting 22 days, 22 matches will be played between the total 5 teams participating.

Significantly, the format of WPL 2023 is slightly different from IPL. In this league, the team which will be on top in the league round will directly qualify for the final. At the same time, an eliminator match will be played between the second and third placed teams. And, the winning team of the Eliminator match will become the second finalist.
